In Proverbs 22:6, it says that parents must train their children in the way they should go and when they’re older they won’t be lost. This doesn’t mean that children won’t periodically stray away from what you taught them, but they’ll always remember those lessons when they’re faced with various challenges in life.
Every body knows what happens when a sponge is dipped into a bucket of water; it simply gets soaked and absorbs the water. Not until the water is squeezed out and it is hanged will it be dry again. This is something like how children are. Children are like sponges. From the first time the see the light of day from their mother’s womb they begin to absorb and suck in. It’s not until that child reaches maturity that they can differentiate between the wheat and chaff.
The enemy, secular media and a lot of other things are speaking to our children and therefore a lot is being sucked by them of which will in the end lead to destruction. At Life Restoration we cannot neglect such a delicate ministry and believe a lot of attention should be given to our children. We are a church of investors and without investing ourselves and most especially Christ Jesus in the fragile children of today we will not have anything to celebrate on tomorrow. In Matthew 23:27 Jesus looked at Jerusalem and the heart of a father fell on Him that He wanted to draw The great city to him as a hen gathers her chick to herself. The Rock of Deliverance has the same heart to gather God’s children and draw them to their heavenly father.
The reason we say YES to committing our lives to serving and shepherding children is because it has clear biblical foundations. Children’s ministry was God’s idea. The discipleship of children is obedience to what God has said.
